Police issued summons to 200 individuals, including Trinamool MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy and BJP’s Locket Chatterjee, for allegedly spreading misinformation about the RG Kar rape-murder case or revealing the victim’s identity. Roy had questioned the official account, while Dr Kunal Sarkar and others criticised the investigation handling. Summoned individuals plan to respond as required by law.
