In Bastar, 41 schools that were closed due to Maoist insurgency two decades ago have reopened for primary students. Bijapur district saw the reopening of 34 schools. Over 500 students, including many girls, have enrolled. Local educated youths are being employed as ‘shikshadoots’ to teach in these remote areas.
