New Delhi’s government deregistered over 59 lakh vehicles, mainly targeting diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles exceeding 15 years. With two-wheelers forming the majority, 39 lakh out of the total vehicles were two-wheelers. The move follows a Supreme Court directive to enforce the NGT order on deregistering overaged vehicles.
