Just before the first anniversary of India’s Chandrayaan-3 landing on the Moon, a new discovery from data by the Pragyan rover revealed that the regolith around the landing site is primarily composed of ferroan anorthosite rock. This supports the lunar magma ocean hypothesis. The findings came from the Alpha Particular X-Ray Spectrometer measurements at the site.
