Muhsin Hendricks, the world’s first openly gay imam, was shot dead near Gqeberha, South Africa. He was in a car with another person when unknown assailants blocked their exit and opened fire. Hendricks was known for his LGBTQ advocacy and had previously mentioned threats against him.
