A Delhi court has sentenced former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar to two life terms for murdering a Sikh man and his son during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Despite the brutal nature of the crimes, mitigating factors such as Kumar’s age and health led the judge to opt for life imprisonment instead of the death penalty. Kumar is already serving another life sentence for similar crimes.
