Assam’s Moidams, the mound-burial system of the Ahom dynasty, were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List on Friday. This brings the number of World Heritage sites in India to 43, placing India sixth globally for the most world heritage properties. This is the third world heritage property from Assam on the list, following Kaziranga National Park and Manas Wildlife Sanctuary.
