The CRPF has strengthened its forces in south Bastar, Chhattisgarh, by deploying an extra 4,000 personnel to combat Maoist insurgency. This action aligns with home minister Amit Shah’s objective of eradicating Left-wing extremist violence by March 2026. Over 100 forward operating bases have been set up to extend governance and development into former Maoist territories.
