Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami of CPI(M) wins his fifth consecutive term in Kulgam constituency, defeating Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Sayar Reshi. Tarigami received 33,390 votes while Reshi got 25,639 votes. Tarigami, who is supported by various parties except BJP, has held this seat since 1996. National Conference did not field a candidate this time.
