Tuberculosis cases dip 18% during ’15-’23, WHO pats India

India has significantly reduced TB incidence by 18% from 2015 to 2023, surpassing the global decline of 8%. The WHO report credits the country’s decentralised healthcare efforts and a substantial budget increase for the TB program. Additionally, new treatments and AI-enabled diagnostics are being introduced to further combat the disease.
