SC rejects plea against election of jailed Sikh preacher Amritpal Singh

The Supreme Court dismissed a plea challenging Amritpal Singh’s election as MP from Punjab’s Khadoor Sahib. The petitioner argued that Singh, who is jailed and allegedly does not owe allegiance to the Indian Constitution, should be disqualified. However, the court directed the petitioner to follow the election petition procedure and dismissed the plea.
