Colonel Manpreet Singh and DSP Humayun Muzzammil Bhat, who sacrificed their lives battling terrorists in Anantnag, were awarded the Kirti Chakra on Independence Day. Posthumous recipients include Rifleman Ravi Kumar. Major Aashish Dhonchak and Sepoy Pardeep Singh received the Shaurya Chakra. In total, 103 gallantry medals were awarded, recognizing outstanding bravery in various operations.
