Coast Guard director general Rakesh Pal, 59, died of a cardiac arrest in Chennai while preparing for an event with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. Pal suffered multiple cardiac arrests before reaching Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital, where he underwent emergency procedures. Despite efforts to revive him, Pal passed away. His remains will be taken to New Delhi for the funeral.
