An office-bearer from Abhishek Banerjee’s Camac Street office has accused Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim’s OSD, Kalicharan Bandyopadhyay, of extorting money using Banerjee’s name. The complaint was lodged at Shakespeare Sarani PS. Mayor Hakim defended his OSD and questioned the need for a police complaint without prior departmental inquiry. A preliminary probe is ongoing.
