Krishna Chivukula, an IIT-Madras alumnus and founder of Indo MIM Technology, donated Rs 228 crore to the institute. The funds will support fellowships for top BTech students, sportspersons, foreign students, and faculty conducting high-risk research. An academic block was named after him. This donation is one of the largest ever made to IIT-Madras.
