India will establish a multi-material semiconductor fabrication unit in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, following an agreement with the US. The plant will produce advanced chips for national security needs of both countries, including defence technologies like night vision devices and drones. This initiative is part of growing India-US cooperation under the Indo-Pacific Economic Corridor and CHIPS Act.
