Preeti Sudan, former Union health secretary, assumed the role of chairperson of UPSC on August 1, following the resignation of Manoj Soni. Sudan, an IAS officer from the 1983 Andhra Pradesh cadre, will serve until April 29, 2025. Soni’s resignation was approved by President Droupadi Murmu and was unrelated to the Puja Khedkar controversy.
