India’s cabinet committee on security has cleared a Rs 26,000 crore deal to acquire 240 aero-engines for the Sukhoi-30MKI jets. These engines, to be produced by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) with significant indigenous content, aim to bolster the Indian Air Force’s capabilities. This order follows the recent acquisition of additional Sukhoi jets and upgrades for other aircraft.
