The Cabinet Committee on Security approved the purchase of 240 AL-31FP aero-engines for the Indian Air Force’s Su-30 MKI aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited at a cost exceeding Rs 26,000 crore. With over 54% indigenous content, the engines will be delivered over the next eight years, enhancing operational readiness. Su-30 MKI is one of the most powerful and strategically-significant fleet of IAF.
