Indian students achieved one gold and four silver medals at the 17th International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics in Brazil. Bengaluru’s Daksh Tayalia won the gold, while Aayush Kuthari, Sanidhya Saraf, Banibrata Majee, and Panini earned silver medals. Competing against 232 students from 52 countries, India secured the eighth position in the medals tally. The competition included theory, observation, and data analysis components. Mumbai will host the IOAA next year.
