Radiologists across India observed a nationwide strike on 17th August 2024, protesting the brutal rape and murder of a 31-year-old female trainee doctor at Kolkata’s R.G. Kar Medical College. Organised by the Indian Radiological & Imaging Association (IRIA), the strike was supported by the Indian Medical Association (IMA) to demand justice and improved security measures for healthcare workers. The medical community urged the government to take immediate action to prevent such tragedies in the future.
