Japan has named Keiichi Ono as its new ambassador to India, taking over from Hiroshi Suzuki. Ono, who is well-versed in Japan-US relations, previously served as senior deputy minister for foreign affairs. The recent 2+2 dialogue between India and Japan aimed at updating their 2008 security cooperation agreement, with PM Modi set to visit Japan later this year.
