The death toll from the Wayanad landslides rose to 173, with over 227 individuals still missing. Rescue operations, hampered by intermittent rain, have so far saved 1,592 people. The Army and other forces are digging through debris in search of survivors. More than 200 injured individuals have been hospitalised. Efforts will continue to find survivors.
