The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has launched a ‘Central School Control Room’ to monitor CCTV footage across civic schools, enhancing student safety after a recent incident of assault in Thane district. Inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, the control room, equipped with advanced technology, oversees nearly 1,000 cameras across 36 schools. The initiative aims to extend to private schools in the future, setting a model for other municipalities to enhance educational safety across Maharashtra.
