An NMC survey found that 28% of undergraduate and 15% of postgraduate medical students suffered from mental health disorders, including anxiety and depression. Additionally, 16% of UG and 31% of PG students had suicidal thoughts. Concerns like stigma and confidentiality hinder seeking help, prompting NMC to recommend the Tele-MANAS initiative and limiting work hours for better mental health support.
