Karnataka Lokayukta’s SIT sought governor’s permission to file charges against Union minister HD Kumaraswamy for alleged illegal approval of an iron ore mining lease during his tenure as CM in 2007. This comes after the governor approved prosecution of CM Siddaramaiah. Kumaraswamy was accused of favoring Sri Sai Venkateswara Minerals among 24 companies.
