Senior Uttarakhand cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj, overseeing tourism, culture, and PWD portfolios, justified the action, stating, “This has been done to avoid unnecessary excitement or provocation from any side and ensure the Kanwar Yatra runs smoothly.”
