The Union Cabinet has approved the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan aimed at improving the socio-economic conditions of tribal communities. The scheme will cover approximately 63,000 villages and benefit more than 5 crore tribal people with a total outlay of Rs 79,156 crore. It includes various interventions by 17 ministries over five years.
