Security forces have intensified search operations in Jammu’s Kathua and Poonch areas following recent shootouts with terrorists. This escalation occurs just days before the first phase of assembly elections on Sept 18. The region has witnessed rising violence, leading to 21 security force fatalities from May to mid-September.
