Noted lawyer Abhishek Singhvi was announced as the Congress candidate for the Rajya Sabha seat from Telangana. Singhvi’s return to Parliament came after a defeat in February due to cross-voting by Himachal Pradesh MLAs. The Telangana seat was previously held by TRS leader Keshava Rao, who had recently rejoined Congress.
