Sri Lanka’s presidential elections have started with 38 candidates in the race. The primary contenders are President Ranil Wickremesinghe, opposition leader Sajith Premadasa, and Marxist lawmaker Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Voting began at 7 am and will conclude by 4 pm. Results are expected by Sunday in this first election since the economic crisis two years ago.
