The Supreme Court ruled that police must issue pre-arrest notices through the prescribed mode under CrPC and BNSS, not via WhatsApp or electronic means. The court also discussed releasing undertrial prisoners who can’t furnish bail bonds on personal bonds with verified Aadhaar cards. Further procedures will be worked out with NALSA for implementation.
