An Israeli airstrike in central Beirut killed Hezbollah media chief Mohammad Afif, marking a rare attack on the Lebanese capital. The strike targeted a building housing the Syrian Ba’ath Party, also killing and injuring civilians. A separate strike in the Mar Elias neighbourhood also claimed lives. Israel has intensified military operations in Lebanon since September, resulting in thousands of casualties.
