A cyclonic storm named ‘Dana’ is set to hit the Bengal-Odisha coast on Thursday. Named by Saudi Arabia, ‘Dana’ means ‘generosity’ in Arabic. The World Meteorological Organization manages cyclone naming using a rotating list from 14 countries in the North Indian Ocean region. Measures are being taken to mitigate potential impacts.
