Over 50 protesters, including women, were detained near Ladakh Bhawan in New Delhi as they showed silent support for climate activist Sonam Wangchuk’s hunger strike. Wangchuk’s fast aims to include Ladakh in the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution for tribal protections. Police noted the protest lacked permission and released most detainees shortly after.

An under-construction bullet train bridge collapsed in Gujarat’s Anand district, trapping workers under the debris. Rescue teams are working to save those trapped, with two workers already rescued.
