Fire contained at historic London arts centre

A fire at London’s historic Somerset House did not affect its priceless artworks, including pieces by Van Gogh and Monet. Approximately 125 firefighters and 20 engines controlled the blaze by 7 PM. The building, once home to Queen Elizabeth I and now housing the Courtauld Gallery, will remain closed indefinitely.
