Israel intel unit chief quits over Oct 7 failure, seeks ‘forgiveness’

Brigadier General Yossi Sariel, commander of Israel’s intelligence unit, will resign due to the failure to prevent Hamas’ October 7 attack that killed over 1200 people. His decision comes after Major General Aharon Haliva’s resignation announcement. Since the attack, Israel’s military operations in Gaza have resulted in at least 41,118 deaths, mainly women and children.
