Neuro-robot offers help in epilepsy treatment

AIIMS, Delhi has pioneered a neuro-robotic treatment for drug-resistant epilepsy. The procedure involves implanting electrodes to pinpoint seizure origins, stimulating them for confirmation, and then ablating the faulty brain area. This ‘popping’ sensation technique has helped over 60 patients, including a 23-year-old woman with previously undetectable lesions, offering a potential permanent cure.
