Operation Lionfish Hurricane: In 2 months, Interpol seizes drugs worth more than GDP of some countries
The Interpol-led Operation Lionfish Hurricane, conducted in April and May, resulted in 206 arrests and seizures worth $1.6 billion across three continents. The operation confiscated 615 tons of illegal drugs and precursor chemicals, 65 stolen cars, and 30,000 commercial detonators. Authorities also discovered a homemade semi-submersible vessel in Guyana used for smuggling cocaine.
