Rwanda battles Marburg virus: What and how worrying is it?

Rwanda is grappling with its first Marburg virus outbreak, with 36 cases and 11 deaths. The virus, closely related to Ebola, has a high fatality rate. Human-to-human transmission occurs through direct contact with bodily fluids. Despite the lack of approved vaccines, trials are underway. Rwanda is monitoring about 300 contacts to control the spread.
