UP doubles down on mandatory display of eatery owners’ names

The UP government has invoked Section 56 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006, to address food contamination issues. Eateries must prominently display proprietor and manager details. Joint teams from the Food Safety and Drug Administration, police, and local administration will enforce this order. This move follows a Supreme Court ruling on similar notifications for Kanwar Yatra routes.
