Election-related seizures in Maharashtra and Jharkhand have exceeded Rs 1,000 crore, a sevenfold increase from the 2019 assembly polls. The Election Commission reported that the majority of the seizures were in freebies, precious metals, and cash, highlighting attempts to influence voters through illicit means.
