The National Medical Commission (NMC) draft regulations propose relaxed norms for medical faculty. Non-teaching consultants with a postgraduate degree and four years’ experience in 220-bedded hospitals can become assistant/associate professors. Diploma holders serving as senior residents since 2017 are eligible for assistant professor roles. MSc/PhD holders can temporarily teach anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology.
97% cases of atrocities against SCs in 2022 reported from 13 states: Report
In 2022, Uttar Pradesh led with 12,287 cases out of the total 51,656 atrocities against Scheduled Caste people reported across India. Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh followed closely.
